I've been using Name.com for my domain registration needs, and while there are things I like about it, there are also some problems that have left me feeling disappointed. One good thing is that they offer lots of different types of domains, which is useful if you want to get different endings for your website addresses. The website is easy to use, so it's not too hard to find your way around and manage your domains. They also have two-factor authentication, which makes your account more secure, and that's always a good thing.
But, there's a big downside when it comes to renewing your domains. When I've set up auto-renewal for my domains, it always adds on extra services that I don't need, like extra security and privacy stuff that's not even useful for people in Europe because of GPDR. And the worst part is, there's no way to say no to these extras. So, if I want to use auto-renewal, I have to go through the hassle of asking for my money back for stuff I never wanted in the first place. This takes up a lot of time, especially if you have lots of domains to deal with.
The other option, manually renewing each domain, is just as much of a pain. It's not very efficient or easy to do. Because of this, I'm thinking about switching to a different domain registration service that doesn't force me into getting stuff I don't want.
Overall, Name.com is good for getting different types of domains and for having an easy-to-use website. But, the way they handle extra services with auto-renewals is a big disappointment. It makes managing my domains much more complicated than it needs to be, especially when I have lots of them to deal with.
