My experience with Insta360 has been extremely frustrating. It all started when my Insta360 X3 camera was lost due to a broken selfie stick. I contacted their customer support in the hope of finding a reasonable solution. However, I was offered a mere 30% discount on a new camera. This was deeply disappointing, as it had taken me two months of careful saving to afford the X3. Things took a turn for the worse when I was informed that in order to purchase a new camera with the offered discount, I needed to have a PayPal account. As I didn't have a PayPal account and had no intention of creating one, this requirement was problematic. To make matters even more convoluted, they suggested a bank-to-bank wire transfer as an alternative. The unnecessarily complicated and cumbersome process left me with the impression that Insta360 was not particularly interested in retaining my business.

If there were a zero-star option

If there were a zero-star option, I would choose it. This company from China is nothing short of a scam. Despite paying $18 for shipping, I never received the package with the ordered product. My attempts to resolve the issue with their customer service have been futile. Each time I call the 800-692-0360 number, I speak to different individuals who seem clueless about my situation. Promised callbacks from a manager never happened, and even assurances of sending a replacement twice turned out to be empty promises. Dealing with these dishonest practices has been a nightmare, and I strongly caution against making any purchases from this company. They should be shut down to prevent others from falling victim to their deceptive practices.

Bought an X4 on September

Bought an X4 on September 28th, 2024. Out of the box, it had trouble connecting to my Samsung S24 Ultra. After recording just 45 minutes of footage, it stopped connecting to both my phone and Galaxy Tab 9. Tried using the Windows desktop app by pulling the SD card, but that failed too. The app blue-screened my $5000 PC with a high-end graphics card. The cell app on Google Play and iTunes is full of complaints about connectivity and bugs. Reviews are suspiciously mixed, with many fake positives. Insta360 wants me to send in the camera for repair, but I’m not paying $500+ for something that didn’t work right from the start. They refuse to send a new one. Avoid this company.

Bought an Insta360 Link2 Webcam and was excited to try it out. Looked promising, but it was a nightmare from the start. Had issues right out of the box and quickly realized there’s zero customer or technical support. Sent multiple emails and reached out on Facebook, but got no real help. They just kept sending automated replies asking for logs, but their system wouldn't even accept the attachments. It's clear they’re just pretending to care. Spent over 30 hours trying to get a resolution, but ended up having to return it to Amazon. Total waste of time and money. Be cautious; some positive reviews seem fake. Save yourself the hassle.

I've had an incredibly frustrating experience with Insta360. Their customer care appears to be handled by individuals who have as much of an idea as I do. I've been constantly plagued by issues with downloading and exporting, and I followed their recommendations, even renewing my devices. I spent an absolute fortune and wasted many hours trying to get it to work, to no avail. It seems like I'm going to have to part ways with the product because I wouldn't want to resell it to anybody in good conscience. For me, it's back to GoPro, where I've had more reliable experiences.

I bought the Insta One X3, and I must say, it's an excellent camera. What truly sets Insta apart is its exceptional customer service. They have an extensive support network across various social platforms, including Reddit, Facebook, and Instagram. Whenever I encountered an issue, their response was swift, and they provided valuable guidance for resolution. The only minor drawback I've noticed is that 360-degree videos can sometimes appear slightly blurry. Unfortunately, I haven't found a definitive solution to this particular concern.

I got this camera and

I got this camera and it's a blast! Sadly, my second one sank in the Costa Rican waves last week. But the editing software is top-notch, perfect for the transitions in our upcoming PBS program "Menghayati" airing this November! Absolutely loving it! Now, I'm on the hunt for a new one. Just a tip, I've heard some people had trouble with returns when dealing directly with the company. If you can, buy it from Amazon or Best Buy and get that protection plan! That is, unless you lose it in the ocean like me! Haha! Cheers, Erik.

I had a simple query about cleaning the invisible stick's salt residue after saltwater exposure. Unfortunately, it took weeks of back-and-forth messages to confirm that using Dawn Platinum Dish soap to remove all the salt residue was a safe method. This process could have been much smoother and quicker, and it seems their customer service could benefit from better training and management.

I bought this 3 suction car mount and was super excited to use it. But one of the suction cups failed while I was driving slowly. I called their customer service and sent all the pictures and videos they asked for. They promised me a response within 24 to 48 hours from their technical team, but it's been four weeks now, and still nothing. It's really frustrating because I spent $450 on this, and it feels like money down the drain. Their customer service is just terrible. I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone.

Ordered from the official Insta360 site, package arrived super quick, like 48 hours. But, it doesn’t work with my computer, which was a huge letdown. Battery life is also a joke; it runs out just as fast as my old £50 GoPro. And this one cost me £349! Tried to return it, but they gave me some sketchy address in Hong Kong and said I have to pay for shipping. Doesn't even seem like a legit place. Now I’m stuck with an expensive paperweight and worried I won’t see my money again. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Despite the item coming from their Worcester warehouse, they insisted I ship it back to Hong Kong and cover the shipping costs myself. The camera is good, but the customer service is terrible. It took ages to get any response to my emails, and when they did, it was unclear. I bought an accessory that broke, and I ended up losing it and the selfie stick (almost lost the camera too). After 4 weeks of dealing with very annoying customer service, they offered me “half price shipping” saving me around £3… A defect left me £60-70 out of pocket.

I submerged my camera, it got wet, not good. But warranty expired 2 months back. Sent message, they said if it's their fault, they'll replace for free, they did. No other companies do this. Good customer service. In profit-driven times, this is human touch.
