We booked through an online booking agency via Trivago. The other agency, Aroma or something, went out of business six months before our holiday, but we only found out when we tried to check into our hotel. They told us the booking had been cancelled months earlier because the company didn't send the money we paid. We had to pay for our holiday again at a higher price. Our travel insurance company said, "not our problem," so we were stuck. After our holiday, we contacted Trivago and got a refund for what we paid to Aroma. It took some time because of this corona thing, but we understood. It was great that they honored the booking faulted by the other company. Also, the communication with Trivago was great. They answered our concerns within 12 hours, which is amazing since they are on the other side of the world. Well done Trivago and thank you...

My wife and I stayed at a B&B in Scotland called Rhenetra in Arisaig. The host Catherine, also known as CJ, was one of the most wonderful people I have ever met. The rooms were cozy, calm, and perfectly clean. CJ not only went that extra mile for us but an extra ten. The views from our room were amazing. All around, a stay I will never, no never forget. My partner and I visited Jambaroo Pub Motel and were satisfied with our stay. The place was convenient, clean, and offered early check-in. We found some good dining options at the pub, King's Cafe, and the bowling club. The nearby IGA was handy for small shopping trips. Tart and Co provided a good breakfast, and the post office and newsagent were close by. There are also two excellent hairdressers in the area if needed.

Fantastic, cozy cabin with all essentials. We liked the spot since it was near Kielder bike park, and the hot tub was clean and maintained. Midges were annoying, so bring citronella; my husband usually doesn't get bitten but did. Don't let it ruin your stay; take precautions. A place worth staying at. I was searching for a hotel in Nice. Trivago prices were higher than the hotel prices. I just contacted the hotel and I got 15% lower price than on Trivago. Same hotel, same condition! So, better, once you find a hotel you like, get the reservation from them!

I booked through Trivago and picked an offer from SUPER.COM. When I arrived at the Hotel, they had no booking for me and said they hadn't received any bookings from SUPER.COM via Trivago. The manager told me it looked like I had been tricked. I emailed Trivago the next day, but they only replied about their strict procedures, without offering to follow up on my issue. I filed a dispute with my bank, and after a week, the money was refunded. I contacted Trivago again and shared the outcome, but they just mentioned their procedures again and said they'd inform their team. I then reached out to the Hotel, and they confirmed they had never received a booking from SUPER.COM, and that others had been scammed this way as well.

Used the company to book a wedding trip. Next day plans changed and had to cancel the company's hotel reservation. The company refused to refund any of the $500 I had charged on my credit card. Never book through the company ever. By the way, bookings made on the company's site are the first to be canceled by the hotels when over-booked. In other words, you should always book directly with the hotel, not the company, because their refund policy stinks!

Trivago was a complete disappointment. On a recent family trip, my wife and daughters booked a room in Utica, NY through Trivago. To our dismay, upon arrival at 10:30 pm, the hotel had no record of our reservation. Trivago had reserved a room at a fully occupied hotel, leaving my family stranded at 11 pm. Absolutely unreliable – always book directly to avoid such chaos. Thanks, Trivago!

Avoid this deceitful company at all costs! They'll trick you by promising a room and then dump you in a sketchy "comparable valued hotel" in a dodgy area. Save yourself the headache and steer clear of this scam-ridden operation.

It sucks so much, it's like the WORST thing ever. Like seriously, it's the kind of thing that makes you want to pull your hair out. The website is a hot mess and it's just a huge waste of time.
