I tried renting a truck for a couple of hours to move a fridge. However, I couldn't get past the Clear identity check. The manager said it's the only way they can rent out trucks because of people using fake IDs and stealing their tools. I asked for multiple verification codes, but the Clear system kept spinning without any progress. The management didn’t offer any other rental options. If Clear doesn’t work, you’re just out of luck. I mentioned that I can rent a car from many companies using my credit cards without needing all this. They said it was a corporate decision and there was nothing they could do. It’s disappointing that there's no backup plan when the tech fails. Home Depot needs to do better. Technology isn't always reliable.
